On 13 November 2025, the young, up-and-coming cellist Valerie Fritz, who is also touring Europe this year as a Rising Star, will perform Segue: Music for Violoncello and Orchestra by Johannes Maria Staud at the Berlin Philharmonic – together with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin conducted by Barbara Dragan. This concert will be broadcast live on Deutschlandfunk Kultur.

Segue was premiered in 2006 at the Salzburg Festival by the Vienna Philharmonic and Heinrich Schiff under the baton of Daniel Barenboim. The revised version was launched in 2009 by Jean-Guihen Queyras with the Konzerthausorchester Berlin under the baton of Lothar Zagrosek.

On 6 July 2026, the Kuss Quartet will give the world premiere of Johannes Maria Staud’s string quartet Cahier des équilibres mouvants at the Carinthischer Sommer festival, and on 23 July the composer's new organ work will be performed there.
